INOVATIV Ambassador Chris Ray

Tell us a bit about your background and how you got started?

I got into filmmaking because of skateboarding with my friends. I grew up making skate videos and it was something I never thought you could do for a "living". The thought of someone paying you to do what you love didn't make sense to me, but now I'm living my dream everyday.

What are some of your favorite INOVATIV products that you currently own and why?

I own several INOVATIV products such as the Voyager 42 EVO X, AXIS Base Station with several AXIS accessories, and the DigiSystem 1535 Pro Ultra Kit. Having the correct and best tools to do my job is super important. Using INOVATIV has helped keep my gear organized and elevates my work experience to a professional level.

Can you share some specific examples of how INOVATIV gear has helped you overcome challenges or achieve exceptional results?

I obviously work with expensive camera equipment, so having a workstation that also keeps my gear safe is important. It's also been very convenient to use for transporting gear onto set. Once you use INOVATIV products on set, you'll always need it.

How do you customize your INOVATIV setup to meet the unique demands of your work?

Since I'm able to customize my workstations, I always evaluate the job and decide which mounts I'm using. Some shoots might require mounting multiple monitors, while others might be building out my camera kits. Every camera shoot is different, but I'm always prepared with all the INOVATIV options.

What advice would you give to aspiring professionals?

Do what you love and the way you want to do it. Don't chase money and don't worry about what others think. You know what you want, so go for it.

When you're not working on projects, how do you like to recharge and find inspiration for your next creative endeavor?

I never think of what I do as "work" because I love it so much. I often hear people complain that it's "Monday", but I feel like it's "Friday" for me everyday.

What are you currently working on?

A year ago, Martin Fobes and I started a production company called "Motion Clubhouse". It's been an absolute dream to build something together and we're just getting started.
